Afternoon Tea

In keeping with the treats theme... We always visited for about 2 weeks in the summer and one of my favorite things was afternoon tea. My mom didn't really have cookies and stuff in the house for daily consumption, so the cookie tray that came out with the tea was a real treat for me. I also enjoyed my sugar and milk with a splash of tea! And don't forget the after dinner coffee, out came that tray of cookies again!

Special Treats!

I'll always remember all the treats we used to get at Grandma's (some of them crazy!). I mean who can imagine eating a slice of white bread with butter and covered in chocolate sprinkles? I couldn't eat that today, but LOVED when we got to have a "mouse turd" sandwich at Grandma's. But, by far, my most beloved treat ever at Grandma's was the Black Cherry and Vanilla Ice Cream float. Mmmmm.... It makes me want one just thinking about it. Now this is a treat I could definitely eat today!

Chocolate Letters

At Christmas Grandma got chocolate letters from the dutch store, but I almost never got an "L". She bought a "W" or an "N" because they had more chocolate!
